Ballast Guarantee

THE BALLAST GUARANTEE IN SHORT FORM (MARKETING, QUOTES, PAID REPORT COVERS)

The Ballast Guarantee: every number traced, every calculation right. If we got it wrong, we fix it, reissue it at no charge, and refund what you paid for that study.

THE BALLAST GUARANTEE IN DETAIL

Every paid Ballast study carries the Ballast Guarantee from the day we issue it. A paid study is a Full Reserve Study, a Reserve Study Update, or a Full Reserve Study or Reserve Study Update delivered through Live Reserve Service.

What we guarantee

1. Every number is traced. Every replacement cost in the study shows where it came from: a bid, an invoice, the association's prior reserve study, or Ballast's own cost basis. The starting figure matches the document it names, and any adjustment we apply to bring it to the study's cost year is applied correctly.

2. Every calculation is right. The arithmetic is correct, and every financing rule and Ballast method rule is applied correctly against the rule version recorded on the study.

3. The model runs correctly. The component schedule, funded status, thirty-year projection and funding plans are built and run correctly on the inputs and assumptions stated in the study.

What we do not guarantee

We do not guarantee future events no one controls. That includes what components will cost when they are replaced, how long they will last, inflation, interest, and what a lender, insurer or agency decides. We also do not guarantee that information supplied by the association or others is correct, including the figures in a prior study. Every assumption is stated in the study, so your board can judge each one and ask us to change it.

If we got it wrong

Tell us in writing within one year of the study's issue date, and name the figure or result you believe is wrong. If it is an error this Guarantee covers, we will:

- correct the study;

- reissue it at no charge; and

- refund the study fee you paid for it.

The refund is the study fee only. It does not include a paid walkthrough fees or travel expenses.

For a study delivered through Live Reserve Service, the refund is the value of that study: the standalone price of that study type at the time it issued. It is not a refund of your Live Reserve Service fee.

This is the full remedy for an error the Guarantee covers: a corrected study, reissued at no charge, and the refund. Nothing is paid beyond that.

How the Guarantee fits with the Service Terms

The Guarantee is part of your agreement with Ballast and works within the Service Terms. The Service Terms govern. If anything in the Guarantee and the Service Terms ever differs, the Service Terms control.

Live Reserve Service

Every study Live Reserve Service delivers carries the Guarantee, as does the board packet built from that study. Monitoring alerts, the Ballast Board and the scenario tool are planning aids and are not covered.

Complimentary tools

Standing Check, Study Check, the calculator and our other complimentary tools are not covered. They show the Ballast Guarantee seal only to tell you that every paid Ballast study includes it.
